I have a 95 that gets about 48-50mpg with the spacer in. In the past year I've only put about 3000 miles on the bike. During this time the spark plug has yet to foul. The bike was put in the shop last Spring for it's 4000 mile check-up. After this, the overall performance had improved. It may be that your bike is running a little rich. This may account for the fouled spark plugs, decrease in farts, and low mileage. It sounds like you may be on the right track with your possible solution. Then again, if the White spacer has already been removed, your mileage may not be far off. I believe this was addressed in earlier posts. Good luck
